Photography Project - Self Portraits

Photography Project - Self Portraits

Remember how I mentioned my family and I would love going to the mountains in the summertime? Well, here's another example! I recall eating a pasta salad that my mom had made that day while sitting on the biggest flat rock I could find in that river. That was yummy.

Anyways, I didn't think about taking photos until we were almost leaving, so I decided to take a few self portraits. Granted, I did have my mom help me out, and she will always take the credit for these photos, but I will say that I set up the camera's settings before telling her to simply click the capture button. These photos were taken in a period when I had finally discovered what my camera was capable of doing, but I really just wanted a new set of self portraits to use on my LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social platforms I was using at the time. Take a look!

This was my very last time visiting the mountains with my family before I moved out into the city. I was not aware that this would be my last time doing this for a few years. If I did, I would have taken so many more photos. I truly cherish these, even if they were just a little one-off photography challenge. The challenge being directing my mom on how to use a camera while I was the subject. Basically, I was the photographer and the model at the same time. This quick project taught me that collaborating to create even a single photograph can be fun, but also challenging. But it always pays off in the end.
